Maria is a curator, sound artist, dj and founder of contemporary off spaces, presenting performance and installation artists in single and group exhibtions and concerts since 2010 (tiefgarage.org, tiptopstop.de). From 2016-2018 she founded the art fair for time-based art (installation, film and sound), Far Off Cologne (faroff.de), and she organized experimental and noise concerts at a brutalist church in Cologne since 2014. Maria has an M.A. in Art History, Philosophy and Classic Literature and she is currently studying a Master of Music (M.Mus.) at the Institute for Music and Media, Robert-Schumann Hochschule, Düsseldorf.
Maria Wildeis is working as artistic and scientific research affiliate in the project ComArts, at the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences, Hochschule Düsseldorf and she was the Head of Exhibitions at Setareh (setareh-gallery.com and setareh-x.com), the curator of the digital art festival Die Digitale 2019 (die-digitale.net), and she cooperated with Frauenkulturbüro NRW eV for an artist exchange for female artists between Germany, Armenia and Georgia which she coordinates now together with Weltkunstzimmer Düsseldorf. She is hosting a radio show at 674fm and she worked together with art institutions like Goethe-Institute Armenia, CCA- Center for Contemporary Art Tbilisi, the German UNESCO Commission, Videonale at Kunstmuseum Bonn, weltkunstzimmer Düsseldorf and Museum Goch. She also took part in Maya Sternel´s Ableton workshops (Basic, Advanced and Synth Programming) provided by remix:regendered, a funded initiative for female electronic music artists (funded by Landesmusikrat NRW) and she is a member of female:pressure, an international network for women in electronic music. As a DJ she performed since 2018 in major clubs in Cologne, for Kompakt Records, Ancient Future, in Yerevan, Armenia and at festivals in Germany and Spain.
